Why pushing film is not the same as brightening

Pushing changes exposure and development, while brightening only lifts a record already finished.

When the purchase is complete, return to the original window. It will refresh.

From the opening

Pushing film means rating it as faster than the box speed and then developing it differently, usually longer for black-and-white, so density can be built back. Brightening lifts a scan or a print afterward, and it does not repeat that development. The opening covers less light, then longer development, shadows that never caught up, and a slider cannot grow silver.

The rest of the brief — the later sections and the reading notes — opens after Stripe confirms payment.
