Why fresco has to be painted into wet plaster

True fresco locks pigment into lime plaster while the plaster is still wet.

When the purchase is complete, return to the original window. It will refresh.

From the opening

In true fresco, pigment in water is brushed onto fresh lime plaster so the color is taken into the wall as the plaster sets. It has to be painted while the plaster is wet because the binding is the plaster's own cure, not a glue painted on afterward. The opening covers pigment locked by carbonating lime, a day's plaster, a giornata, and why secco sits on top.

The rest of the brief — the later sections and the reading notes — opens after Stripe confirms payment.
