Why the paint beads or blooms

Paint beads when the surface will not wet, and it blooms when extra water pushes pigment to an edge.

When the purchase is complete, return to the original window. It will refresh.

From the opening

Beading and blooming are two different failures of a wash to lie down evenly. Beading is paint sitting in droplets because the surface refuses to wet, and blooming is pigment shoved into a ragged edge because water moved after the color was down. The opening covers refusal leaves round beads, a later flood moves pigment, and the rim marks the tide.

The rest of the brief — the later sections and the reading notes — opens after Stripe confirms payment.
