How a needle and an awl differ

A needle carries thread through its eye, while an awl only opens a hole for thread to follow.

When the purchase is complete, return to the original window. It will refresh.

From the opening

A sewing needle is a slender shaft with an eye, so it both pierces and pulls the thread through in the same pass. An awl is a handle and a point whose job is to open or enlarge a hole, leaving the thread to be passed afterward by some other means. The opening covers the eye carries the thread through, an awl only opens a path, and cloth needles push yarns aside.

The rest of the brief — the later sections and the reading notes — opens after Stripe confirms payment.
